What is RSS?
RSS is a simple data format that is used to send content to Web site subscribers. The format allows content to be distributed without the need of a browser; using software designed to read these RSS contents (an aggregator). It is also possible to use the same browser to see RSS contents. The latest versions of browsers can read RSS without the need for additional software. RSS is part of the XML format family developed specifically for all kinds of sites which are frequently updated, and through which information can be shared and used on other Web sites and programs.
