Coinciding with Easter, Puerto de la Cruz will hold its Eighth Festival of Antique and Baroque Music . This event is going to be a series of concerts that begin with a program of Bach cantatas and motets, by the Coral Reyes Bartlet (Association that organizes the event) with the Humboldt Ensemble, directed by Mark Peters, the 28th in Iglesia de la Peña de Francia, with an opera surprisingly entitled El Empresario de las Canarias, by Magios, the 31th in Centro de Congresos Taoro. Since April 1, Castillo de San Felipe will be the stage for music composed by Diego Durón, who lived in Gran Canaria in the seventeenth century, also performed by Magios, and finally, and at the same place, on the 3rd of April, there will be a monograph about Bach, with Humboldt Ensemble and Mark Peters. Complementing these activities, from March 29th to April 31th several courses will be taught on Baroque music performance at the headquarters of the Association Reyes Bartlet.
