Exhibition of Nativity Sets
Christmas dioramas at Museo de Historia
IEvery Christmas, Museo de Historia y Antropología de Tenerife drew up a nativity scene or makes an exhibition of nativity sets from their own collections or eventually transferred. This year is a collection of dioramas made by D. Francisco Delgado Rodriguez, whose career has been marked by his teaching and by his designs for traditional festivities in different municipalities of the islands of Tenerife and La Palma. These dioramas are a collection of New Testament passages from the Annunciation to the early years of the life of Jesus made with cork, paper, glass, mirrors, etc. to give depth and perspective to the play. The lighting and color, and countless details in landscapes and architecture, are essential elements in the representation, as well as the nativity figurines that have been made by different artisans: J. L. Mayo, M. Nicolás Almansa and Escuela de Murcia.
