Romería of San Agustín in Arafo
Transfer of the banner, regional gathering of “coplas”(folk songs) and contest of musical bands. It was first held in 1975, as part of the programme of events of the fiestas of San Juan Degollado, and was declared an event of National Interest for Tourism in 1983. The romería (procession) commemorates a miraculous event in 1751, when, by the intervention of Saint Augustine, a storm unearthed the source of the Añavingo, which had been buried by a landslide.
