Between Spring and Summer, Parque Nacional del Teide becomes a colourful show of the Canary Islands' nature. The blooming of the red Tajinaste (Echium wildpretii) is the target of thousands of visitors who seek the beauty of this plants covered with a deep red surface of flowers.
Tajinaste is a characteristic plant from the Canary Island, it can be reach the three meters of height and grow at an altitude of 2.000 meters, standing temperatures as low as 15º below zero
Spring is also the flowering period of the Retama Blanca del Teide (White Broom), a bush that reaches a height of two meters and withstands extreme changes of weather. During this season, the white blooming of this plant is brightening up the desolated and spectacular landscapes of Parque Nacional del Teide.
